JT,
We've left the wreconsole running on more than 1 instance on a public website. Because this is a huge security issue, we've created a cron job to check for running wreconsole instances on our servers.
Would you be interested in a patch to include this test into the wremonitor? I'm thinking it would have a flag in the wre.conf file to indicate whether to run the check or not.

I'd like to take a look at it at least. Sounds like a good idea, but I'd like to see how it's implemented. For example, does it send out warnings each time the WRE monitor is run, or does it somehow check how long the WRE console has been running?

JT,
Our current version just sends an email if the process is running. We need to make it more cross-platform friendly and can look into checking on how long it's been running. There's a way to get that info from ps (ps -eo "%p %y %t %c").
